Track II - Mass Casualty Incident Management Seminar

This course is designed for anyone involved in delivering emergency services as a result of a mass-casualty incident.  A community’s EMS, fire, rescue, police, aero-medical, fire-police, emergency department and dispatch center personnel should attend since joint response and coordination is crucial to the successful management of any multiple-victim incident.

Mass-Casualty Incident Management offers the students understand and appreciate the proper principles and procedures for successful management of mass casualty incidents.  Participants will be provided with factual and graphic information along with examples of how to manage and/or function cooperatively at actual, or potential, mass-casualty incidents.  Participants will also learn the roles and responsibilities of each key command officer and participating agency at mass-casualty incidents.

This program has been rated by the Pennsylvania Department of Health for 7.5 hours of Continuing Education (other category) for Basic and Advanced Life Support practitioners.  You must successfully pass the program in order to obtain the hours.

Track II – Advanced Stroke Life Support

 This program will share information regarding stroke as it relates to early recognition and notification, quality management, protocol for stroke patients, and tools for assessment.

 At the conclusion of this program, participants will be able to: describe early treatment in suspected cases of stroke; demonstrate tools for assessment and intervention; illustrate the importance of a systems approach to care; cite base stroke facts and rationale for urgent care; and, demonstrate understanding of instructor as facilitator in course delivery.

 This program has been rated by the Pennsylvania Department of Health for 5.5 BLS and 6.5 ALS hours of Continuing Education (medical /trauma) for Basic and Advanced Life Support practitioners.  You must successfully pass the program in order to obtain the hours.

Registration fee covers all refreshments, lunches, and handouts. Refund policy is as follows.  Individuals who cancel prior to the registration deadline of Wednesday, February 1 will receive a total refund.  No refunds or cancellations after February 16 will be given.  If you need to cancel, you can substitute another individual.  The Council must be notified immediately.  No shows at the seminar will receive no refunds.
