Emergency Preparedness Specialist Position Announcement

On August 18, 2009, PA governor, Edward Rendell signed Pennsylvania's
new EMS Systems Act 37.  The new Act replaces Act 45, which has been in place since 1985.

 

The Act can be downloaded from www.emmco.org , breaking news section.  A self guided presentation will soon be posted on EMMCO West's website and town meetings are being scheduled for October & November.

 

Rules and Regulations are required for many of the sections of the Act.  Over the next 2 years these regulations will be developed through statewide town hall meetings.  Read through the new Act and plan on coming to these statewide meetings to provide your input in the creation of the new rules and regulations.

EMMCO West is pleased to announce a full time position opening.  The Emergency Preparedness Specialist position is one of six positions being advertised across the Commonwealth.  The emergency preparedness specialist will be based out of EMMCO West, Meadville, PA and will oversee a geographic area within the NW PA DOH district area.

The position is a federally funded position through the Office of Public Health Preparedness, PA Department of Health.  The Emergency Preparedness Specialist will assist county EMA, EMS agencies, public health, and emergency service stakeholders coordinate EMS assets and resources.

The deadline for submission of a letter of intent and resume is September 11, 2009.

 

 

 

Emergency Preparedness Specialist

The regional MSEC trailer, MCI trailer, and mobile hospital trailer systems are EMS preparedness assets that the Emergency Preparedness Specialist will assist regional and state emergency preparedness partners coordinate.  The position is a full time position and the specialist will be based out of the EMMCO West office.
